The active ingredient in Bora-Care® is a borate salt. Borate salts work by forming a protective layer on the wood. When insects like termites, beetles and ants expose to the treated wood, it blocks them to extract nutrient from the wood and starve to death. This alerts the insect colony to abandon the wood. The unique mode of action makes insects cannot develop a resistant. This makes an excellent solution of preventing termites.

Borate salt has a toxicity similar to table salt. When it applies to wood, it diffuses and persists into the core, providing a long term protection while other animals will not expose to the borate salts easily.

Every year, at least 45 million gallons or more toxic pesticide have been pumped in the ground, causing a great impact to our natural environment. By choosing Bora-Care®, this impact can be reduced.

No need to extend renovation time! Bora-Care is applied directly to the wood and concrete on walls, subfloors, sill plates, piers and expansion joints, as well as around pipe chases and plumbing during the dried-in stage of construction.

Pre-treating a home with Bora-Care is fast and efficient, just reserve a short period of time for our service team to directly apply Bora-Care to the wood with sprayer. There is no need for evacuation of work crew or for special precautions. Weather is simply not a factor as well.

5. Penetrates the Wood

Bora-Care® penetrates the wood, protecting it throughout. Because it doesn’t break down over time, it provides protection for the life of the wood. Use it as a whole-house treatment can prevent termite and decay rot infestations and can provide general pest protection.

A patented mixture of borates, glycol and other ingredients cause Bora-Care® to penetrate the wood far deeper than any other borate product available. Which means the wood is protected longer.

The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) 99-A form allows direct wood treatment of Bora-Care® as a primary termite treatment in new home construction.

Bora-Care® is listed in the International Building Code and the International Residential Code. Bora-Care® meets the sill plate end-cut requirements set by building codes and the American Wood-Preservers’ Association (AWPA M4).

FGG/BM® system compatibility means that the product has been tested and continuously monitored to ensure chemical compatibility. It also proves that BoraCare® does not corrode metal fasteners, fittings or nails.
